Chef Jeremy Blythe

Chef Jeremy Blythe is the Baker/Owner at Sunshine State Sweets.

Here’s a little bit about Chef Jeremy and his background! Born and raised in Tampa Bay, he has spent his life in the Sunshine State and is a proud Floridian. Growing up, he would spend his afternoon’s after school watching Food Network shows and was enamored with all things cooking and baking.

In 2008, Jeremy left a 9-5 corporate job in Clearwater on a whim and some nudging from his then girlfriend (now WIFE!) within two weeks of applying to culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Orlando. After graduating with a degree in Patisserie and Baking, Jeremy began an internship that would turn into a 5 year stint at The Don Cesar Hotel. A great deal was learned here and experiences that he would never have dreamt.

After the Don Cesar, Jeremy left St. Pete Beach and headed to a new and much bigger opportunity where he began the next chapter of his career at the Renaissance Orlando at Sea World. This was a big move for Jeremy and would be his first leadership role in a large scale, up-scale bake shop in the Hospitality capital of the United States and perhaps the world.

Jeremy always knew he wanted to be a teacher, but perhaps later in his career but when the opportunity came up to move back home to the Tampa Bay area to teach Culinary Arts at a High School in Wesley Chapel… he threw caution to the wind (yet again) and went for it! From interviewing for the job with no teaching experience to needing to take state exams for a teacher’s license, two weeks later was his first day on the job with a bunch of high school students, what could go wrong!?

Today, Jeremy is happily married to the love of his life Hannah, who manages our creative and marketing strategies as well as produces and edits all of our YouTube Channel Vlogs (http://www.youtube.com/thesavorysuitcase) Hannah and Jeremy reside in the Land O’ Lakes area of Pasco County.

Jeremy has always done cakes and desserts on the side for friends and family but has long dreamt of owning his own business and bake shop. This is a major dream come true and even though he doesn’t have his own brick and mortar location, he hopes to bring joy and many magnificent memories to people through his passion and craft.
